JAMMU, Oct 24: Swami Vivekananda Medical Mission Charitable Hospital here today in collaboration with Abbott India Ltd, organized a free Vitamin D testing and awareness camp to aware the public regarding the growing prevalence of Vitamin D deficiency and its impact on bone and muscular health.
The event was graced by the presence of distinguished members of the Management Committee including Amar Chand Gupta, senior vice president; B.B Gupta, general secretary; B.S Jamwal, secretary; Shankar Dutt Sharma and Dr. Sachin Gupta, members along with Dr. Arvind Kohli, Medical Director; Dr. Rabinder Rattanpal, Medical Superintendent; Dr. Yash Pal Karsyal, Assistant Medical Superintendent and Iqbal Deep Singh, Manager.
The camp was held under the supervision of Senior Orthopaedic Surgeons, Dr. Sham Jurangal and Dr. Rajesh Gandotra.
Dr. Sham Jurangal said: “Vitamin D deficiency is a silent yet widespread issue. Regular screening and timely management can significantly reduce complications like bone pain, weakness and osteoporosis.”
Dr. Rajesh Gandotra said: “The response from the community has been encouraging.”
Dr. Rabinder Rattanpal, Medical Superintendent said that with initiatives like the Vitamin D camp, they aim to empower individuals with the knowledge and tools they need to lead healthier lives.
Dr. Arvind Kohli, Medical Director, stated: “Such initiatives reflect our hospital’s continued commitment to preventive healthcare and community service.” B.B Gupta, general secretary also spoke on the occasion.
