MENDHAR, Aug 12: The Army arrested a villager hailing from Darhal area of Rajouri, near the Line of Control in Balakote area of Poonch last night.
The Indian troops arrested a villager hailing from Darhal area of Rajouri when he was moving closer to the Line of Control at around 1 am. A night patrol of the Army noticed the suspicious movement and challenged the suspect at gun point and later took him into custody. He was taken to nearby Army camp and was placed under questioning. Later, he was handed over to Mendhar police.
SDPO Mendhar Surinder Choudhary when contacted said that army handed over a middle aged villager to them. He has been identified as Arif Hussain, son of Mohd Sharief, resident of Darhal area in Rajouri. He appeared to be mentally unsound. The investigation has been started and police was trying to develop contact with his family.
