JAMMU, Aug 11: Underlining resolve of the Government to address infrastructure requirements of far flung areas, Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand today said that meeting development needs of rural, border and far-off belts of the State is up on the agenda and mega projects have been launched to upgrade infrastructure.
He said the Coalition Government has worked on the agenda to take development revolution to every nook and corner of the State.
“We are committed to make the State a model state in the country and mega infrastructure development projects have been launched to transform development profile of the State,” he added.
Mr. Tara Chand was addressing a monthly public meeting of the area at Khour, today.
Detailing development projects launched in the area, Tara Chand said Khour block is among top in the country with regard to connectivity by road links as every village has been interlinked with more than one road and three mega rural development projects have already started in the area. Special cluster model village projects at Pargwal, Pallanwala and Sainth have been undertaken for over all development of the villages falling under them, he added.
He said various projects have been undertaken in the area including, up gradation of Pargwal road to double lane standards, construction of multi-crore Khour- Pargwal bridge besides construction of receiving stations and a lift irrigation scheme on Manawar Tawi.
Stressing on availing benefits through schemes like SKEWPY, the Deputy Chief Minister said that need of the hour is to look beyond Government sector for employment and develop those skills which have good market potential, adding that an entrepreneur not only becomes a role model for the society but also contributes in strengthening economy of the state besides providing employment opportunities to many others.
Underlining various initiatives taken in the education Department, Tara Chand said to address the staff shortage multi pronged strategy has been adopted in the department. He said over 22 thousand employees have already been promoted in the recent past. DPC for class IV, promotion of education volunteers and other employees are underway and soon more would get their due, he added.
He said in order to address the education requirement of Backward and ALC areas the Government has approved recruiting general line teachers on the pattern of ReTs in these areas.
