RAJOURI, Oct 4: Local residents including members of Human Rights Council, Rajouri unit went on hunger strike against the Municipal Council Rajouri (MCR) authorities today.
As the public anger against the Municipal Council Rajouri (MCR) is growing for the past several months due to the negligence, with regard to scattered garbage on the roads and lanes, the people today went on hunger strike.
They alleged that the garbage is dumped openly in the city, and the sanitation system has completely collapsed. For the last 13 hours these people are on protest dharna/strike.
Protesters alleged that MC official neither listening to the public, nor complying with the District Court’s orders. They said the strike will continue till the garbage is cleared and the officials responsible for it, are prosecuted. Bal Krishan (WHRC), Dinesh Sharma, Rajesh Sharma, Sanjay Bali are leading the protest.
