JAMMU, Oct 4: Mission Statehood Jammu Kashmir (MSJK) activists here today staged a protest demonstration under the leadership of their president, Sunil Dimple against the start of prepaid system for electricity.
Addressing the protesters, Dimple said that the Government has failed to keep its promise of free 200 units electricity.
He demanded CBI probe in the contract allotment and purchase of the smart meters.
The MSJK leader claimed that the government has started prepaid electricity to loot the poor families.
He said that they will continue the protests against the prepaid smart meters.
“Power bills are not properly updated on mobiles and without informing the consumers, the department disconnects power connection,” Dimple maintained adding: “The Government should return J&K Power Projects back to J&K.”
Swarn Lal, Ashok Sharma, Vijay Virdi, Kala Singh, Deepak Kumar, Mohinder Kumar, Lohari Shaha, Arun Verma and many others were also present in the protest.
