RAMBAN, Sept 24: A sacrilegious act in Dharmoond area of Batote triggered protests.
Police sources informed that an FIR has been registered in this regard and some suspects were detained.
The incident was filmed and shared online and it went viral, causing outrage and the locals organized a peaceful protest.
DC Ramban, Mohammad Alyas Khan and SSP Ramban, Arun Gupta rushed to Batote to assess the situation.
For investigation, a multi-disciplinary team was formed and the District Police Ramban has appealed to the public to remain calm and avoid spreading rumours.
