JAMMU, Sept 20: Kalidhar Brigade celebrated its 60th Raising Day today at Sunderbani with gaiety. Over the past six decades, Kalidhar brigade has a distinguished operational history, having participated in 1965 war, 1971 war, Op Vijay (1999), Op Prakram (2001) and recently in Op Sindoor where it displayed exemplary and unflinching commitments and brought laurels to Indian Army.
Diamond Jubilee celebrations was an opportunity to reconnect past with present and rededicate to future journey. Highlight of the event was presence of nine ex Subedar Majors of JakLi regiment hailing from all parts of J&K along with large numbers of veterans JCOs and NCOs, who had served in the past with 28 Infantry Brigade Headquarters.
The day commenced with laying wreath by Brigadier Jaidev Singh Aswal, Commander 28 Infantry Brigade at the Kalidhar War Memorial to pay tribute to martyrs and bravehearts who have laid their lives during various battles fought in the sector. Coming from far flung areas and getting together for such a momentous occasion offered a unique opportunity for all serving personnels and veterans to share each other’s experiences.
In the evening veteran guests planted trees to commemorate the occasion. It was followed by a station visit where they could recollect and reconnect with their old memories.
