JAMMU, Sept 8: A crucial meeting of Kashmiri Pandit organisations including Vision Kashmir and Victims of Terrorism Front was held today, at Muthi, where members collectively addressed the irregularities in punching Nfsa data forms.
The meeting was held under the leadership of Vision Kashmir convenor Sunil Fotedar and Front chief Dilip Pandita.
The meeting assessed the situation arising from the Nfsa punching exercise initiated in Jagati and Nagrota and speakers unanimously rejected this punching exercise, emphasizing the need to safeguard the displaced status of Kashmiri migrants.
This punching system has several loopholes and unnecessary columns that are detrimental to the displaced community, as it is Aadhar-based, considering the present address as permanent, whereas it should be bio-data form-based, prioritizing permanent Valley addresses and voter EPIC to maintain displaced status.
The data form inaccurately labels displaced individuals as unorganized labourers/migrant labourers, which is unacceptable, as they are displaced, distressed, and traumatized.
The OTP-based punching system requires the entire family to undergo the process, which is impractical, given that many family members are out of State for academic or employment purposes.
This meeting marked a collective call to action, as members resolved to intensify their struggle until the Government addresses their demands for data correction.
Eminent speakers, Sanjay, Ashok Kumar Bhat, Vimal, Hari Krishan Koul, Vimal Hangloo, Ravi Raina, Vimal Pandita, Ramesh Sopori, Ashok Kumar, Vinod Kumar Koul, Bharat Pandita, and Ashwani Manto Ji, addressed the gathering.
