LUCKNOW, Sep 1 : Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav today said that BJP-RSS has ruined India’s foreign policy as all the friendly countries of the world have veered away from New Delhi.
“Recently, even during Operation Sindoor, our neighbouring countries did not stand with us. At that time, China was helping Pakistan in every way. US, with whom there was great friendship, has now imposed 50 percent tariff on trade and has also threatened more stringent economic sanctions. The frightened BJP government has now taken refuge in China, whose track record has been one of enmity with India,” he claimed.
Yadav, while addressing the party leaders here, said: “We have seen the fate of the slogan of Hindi-Chini Bhai-Bhai in 1962 and 4000 of our military officers were imprisoned and subjected to all kinds of torture. Earlier in 1950, China had occupied Tibet”.
He said that China has always had its eyes on Indian land.” It broke India’s War Memorial in Rizangla, it snatched Five Fingers, it occupied Pangong Lake, and it has thousands of square miles of Indian land under its control. China also claims a large part of India’s Arunachal Pradesh as its own. It has not stopped its military activities in the Galwan Valley and other important military areas. Then why are the two countries holding talks ,” he questioned.
The SP president said that China is finding itself helpless in front of US economic pressures and on the other hand, the sword of closure is hanging in front of India’s business establishments as exports have stopped and imports have become very expensive.
Akhilesh Yadav claimed that India was benefiting from trade with US while the country is incurring losses in trade with China. “India’s markets are already flooded with Chinese goods, now with the new deal, it will have complete interference in the Indian market. Import of Chinese goods is increasing while Indian industries are dependent on China. In such a situation, how much will the resolution of Swadeshi hold ” he further questioned.
Yadav said if the reality of India-China relations is kept in mind, then one would realise that India is not going to get any big benefit in trade with China. “We are dependent on it for the availability of raw materials. After establishing dominance in the strategic sector, China will leave no stone unturned to cripple India in the trade sector as well,” he said.
Akhilesh Yadav said China is an expansionist country and its ambition is to continuously expand its borders.
“China has already done the work of drowning many neighbouring countries in debt in the name of economic assistance. China, which maintains verbal cooperation and friendly relations with India, has not yet taken a clear stand on the talks on the Indian territory occupied by it.
“After annexing Tibet, it now wants to spread its feet in Arunachal, Leh, Ladakh as well. Due to these moves of its, it cannot be trusted at all that it will support India with good intentions,” he claimed. (UNI)
