Govt keeps ARTO Samba’s attachment in abeyance

JAMMU, Aug 21: The Government has kept in abeyance the attachment of incharge ARTO Samba, Ramesh Kumar Samotra, and ordered a formal inquiry into his alleged unauthorised absence from the duty.

Samotra was attached on August 19 vide Transport Department order number 118-TC of 2025 to the office of Transport Commissioner Jammu for his alleged absence from the duties since August 9.
According to the fresh order, Malik Tahir Gani, Director Motor Garages J&K, has been appointed as Inquiry Officer, while Jasmeet Singh, Regional Transport Officer Jammu, has been named as Presenting Officer to conduct an inquiry into the alleged unauthorized absence of Samotra from duty.
The Inquiry Officer has been directed to submit his report along with recommendations to the Administrative Department within two weeks.
