Army organises porters’ recruitment

POONCH, Aug 21: Providing opportunity of employment, Indian Army organized recruitment rally of porters at Gagrian in Sawjian area near Line of Control in which thousands of youth from Poonch and Rajouri districts participated.
Information reveals that 25 RR unit of Indian Army held this recruitment rally to fill 100 vacancies of porters for six months, and 40 reserve porters for which all the formalities including race, physical and medical tests were conducted in overall supervision of Army officers during which teams of J&K Police under the supervision of Incharge Police Post Sawjian, Rajat Nanawat and Health Department were also present.
Army conducts such recruitment rally every year, a defence spokesman said.
Pertinent to mention that thousands of youth who participated to get selected in the recruitment rally includes many Graduates and even Master Degree holders, but despite all these degrees they are compelled to work as porter because of unemployment.
