JAMMU, Aug 20: K.P. Volunteers (KPV), celebrated its Foundation Day with great enthusiasm. Kuldeep Khoda, former CVC was the chief guest on the occasion while Meenakshi Kilam, former Rector, Kathua Campus, Jammu University was the guest of honour.
Founder KVP, Vikram Koul delivered the welcome address.
The function started with Ganesh Vandana by the Silver Screen Dance Group, followed by enthralling Kashmiri folk songs and dances presented by Meeru Raina, the Gurtoo Sisters, Anmol Raj and Shivani Jotshi.
The doctors who have dedicated themselves to community welfare through KPV were honoured. They included Dr.Shalan Koul, Dr. Sunil Bhat, Dr.Anupama Shah, Dr.Sujeet Bhat, Dr. Deepak Bhat, Dr. Ajay Krishan Pandita, Dr. B. L. Pandita, Dr. Sanjay Bhat, Dr.Sanjeev Bhat, Dr.Anirudh Koul, Dr.Samita Bhat, Dr.Javaid Iqbal, Dr. T. K. Moza, Dr.Sandeep Bhat, Dr. Ajay Misri and Dr. R. K. Saproo.
Prominent social activists were also honoured. They included Dr. Sushil Watal, Kuldeep Raina, Dr. Dileep Pandita, Pradeep Pandita, Dr. Ramesh Nirash, Ravi Jogi, Sohan lal Tak, B. L. Jalali, K. K. Bhat, Ravi Dhar, Dr. Neeraj Koul and retired officials of Bank of Baroda and Punjab National Bank, Arvind Koul, Vikas Raina, S. L. Bhan, M. K. Watal, Sunil Trakroo, Rocky Pandita, Bihari Lal Dhar, Ramesh Hangloo, Dr. T. K. Bhat, Ashok Kangan, P. K. Raina and Avtar Krishan Misri.
The representatives of NGOs and media personalities who were honoured included R. K. Mattoo (KHCWT, Bangalore), Uphar Kotru and Archana Kokroo (KOA), Prof. Virendar Rawal (VYETH), Sanjay Dhar (Sharika Foundation), Dr. Agnishekhar (Y4PK), Virinder Koul (GKPD), PintooJi (Global Solace), Rohit Bhat (Vomedh/ TRN), M. K. Bhat (Helpline Humanity), Rohini Vaishnavi (Amarnath VaiShnavi Foundation), Ravi Mahaldar (Satchel Matamaal), Sandhya Dhar (JIGER Foundation), Anil Bhat (PTI), Ramesh Marahata (senior radio broadcaster), Dr.Sahil Bansal, Yashwant Yadav (Bee Enn Hospital), Kusum Tikoo (anchor/actor), BindyaTikoo (anchor, Prasar Bharti Broadcaster and Voice Artist), Kanwal Krishan Ganjoo.
A documentary on KPV was also released on the occasion.
