JAMMU, Aug 18: Mission Shakti District Hub for Empowerment of Women Social Welfare Department in collaboration with JKRLM organized an awareness session on menstrual health & hygiene for rural women in the Marh block.
Resource person Dr Bhanu Mahajan, Gynaecologist, Government Sub District Hospital Marh provided a comprehensive overview of key topics including the menstrual cycle, menstrual hygiene management, menopause and essential preventive health practices. She emphasized the importance of maintaining personal hygiene during menstruation to prevent infections and promote overall well-being.
Shagun Manchanda, District Mission Coordinator, Mission Shakti highlighted the critical role of awareness in breaking the silence and stigma around menstruation and advocated for community-based support to ensure women’s health is prioritized at every stage of life.
The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Shruti Uppal, BPM Marh, who appreciated the efforts of Mission Shakti for arranging an informative and impactful session for the overall welfare of the women.
