JAMMU, Aug 7: Gold ornaments worth lakhs and Rs 7000-8000 in cash were stolen from a house in Janipur area here today.
The incident happened between 11:30 AM to 12 PM when the owner of the house, Deepak Sharma son of Madan Lal of Krishna Vihar, Janipur Colony, was out of the home for getting some medical tests done in a private lab.
Quoting the community residents, he said one unidentified individual entered his house from the rooftop and forcibly broke open the lock of one of the rooms to commit the theft.
On his written complaint, a case under the relevant sections of the law has been registered at Police Station Janipur and further investigation has been taken up.
