JAMMU, July 26: A delegation of the Jammu and Kashmir General Line Teachers Forum (JKGLTF), Jammu Wing, led by Provincial President Farooq Ahmed Daing today called on the Director School Education Jammu and apprised him of several pressing and long-pending issues concerning the teaching fraternity as well as support staff across Government schools.
The key issues raised during the meeting included undue delay in the release of pending transfer lists under the Annual Transfer Drive (ATD) for Teachers, Masters, and Lecturers, Departmental Promotion Committees (DPCs) for teaching and non-teaching cadres, Time-Bound Promotions and resolution of Time-Barred Cases, regularization and pending service matters of AAYAs and Cooks engaged under different educational schemes, pending GPF (General Provident Fund) withdrawals of teaching and non-teaching employees.
The delegation voiced deep concern over administrative stagnation due to prolonged delays in these matters, resulting in unrest among the employees. They earnestly appealed to the Director to address these grievances on a priority basis.
The Director School Education Jammu, while giving a patient and positive hearing, assured the delegation that the pending ATD list will be released very soon while other issues such as DPCs, GPF cases, and time-bound service matters will be taken up on priority.
The Forum emphasized that the Annual Transfer Drive (ATD) is not merely a policy mechanism but a transformational opportunity to establish equity, balance, and academic vibrancy across schools. The Forum strongly condemned attempts by certain vested-interest groups and self-styled organizations which are allegedly misusing political or bureaucratic influence to derail the ATD process.
