Saawan Mahotsav being celebrated with fervor

JAMMU, July 21: Saawan Mahotsav is being celebrated with religious fervor at Panjbakhtar Mandir in the City along with many other temples and is attracting large number of devotees of Lord Shiva from different parts of Jammu who are paying their obeisance to Mahadev.
Panjbakhtar Temple Trustee Suresh Sharma, Senior Retired judge told the Excelsior that Mahadev Ji is present in `Panjbakhtar Swaroop” at Panjbakhtar Temple, which is an ancient religious place.
“A Bhajan Sandhya is being organized every Monday in Panjbakhtar Temple,” Sharma said.
A Gurukul has been set up inside the temple whose children displayed their religious items today during the Bhajan Sandhya which were strongly applauded by the devotees of Lord Shiva present in large numbers to hear the bhajans.
Harsh Sharma, a renowned classical singer from Uttar Pradesh sang classic bhajans of Lord Shiva during the Bhajan Sandhya at the temple tonight. Dr Rakesh Kalotra also sang the bhajans.
Suresh Sharma said classical music is the gift of Lord Mahadev and that is why the classical music singers were called to Bhajan Sandhya.
Various functions have been planned at Panjbakhtar temple during the month of Saawan, whose second Monday fell today. The Bhajan Sandhya is organized every evening of Monday while other programmes are being held regularly.
Number of devotees visiting the temple has increased manifold at Panjbakhtar temple during the month of Saawan. The programmes are attracting the devotees.
