MENDHAR, July 9: Zonal Committee of PDP Mendhar today resigned from party in protest of High Command’s decision of giving mandate to Maroof Ahmed, who had joined the party one year back.
Led by Mohd Azam Sagar, the zonal committee members including various Block presidents, OBC president, Mohd Haji Fani, minority Hindu community president, Subash Chander Shani, youth president, Kafeel Sudan, Labour Association president, Qayoom Ahmed, district sectrary, Waqar Ahmed and many PDP workers, submitted their cards to District vice-president, Waseem Ahmed Khan for sending the same to party president, Mufti Mohd Sayeed, as a symbol of protest.
They demanded that candidature of Maroof Ahmed be withdrawn, who is unknown to many areas of Mendhar Constituency. He is nowhere in politics and baby in the great battle of assembly elections against National Conference, as he spent most of his time in practicing in Poonch Court, they added.
The aspirations of the public of Mendhar constituency had great faith in leadership of MLA Mendhar, Sardar Rafiq Hussain Khan, who spent his whole life for public services, they said, adding Gujjar and Bakerwal Community had shown great faith in leadership of MLA Mendhar.
They further said that the faith of people of Rajouri-Poonch was killed by PDP high command by giving party mandate to a person who has no ground but only manipulation and chamagiri with senior bureaucrats to favour him before high command.
If Party High Command doesn’t withdraw the candidature of Maroof Ahmed, the public will launch huge revolution against the party in twin border districts of Rajouri-Poonch, they asserted.
