SRINAGAR, July 9: The residents of border district Kargil are irked by poor service of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) due to its poor connectivity and frequent shutdown of services.
The subscribers told Excelsior that while Kargil area continues to remain physically disconnected with the rest of the country for most part of the year, poor mobile connectivity in the district has become a cause of concern for them.
Ahsan Ali Gowkhapa, a social activist from Kargil said that the poor communication has not only affected their business, but also affected the career of hundreds of students who can’t fill online forms for different competitive exams due to negligible broadband service provided by BSNL.
He also said that the visitors and tourists also suffer a lot as they are not able to remain connected with their loved ones once they land in Kargil or Drass.
Locals said that they took up the issue many times with the authorities, but nothing improved on ground.
