Jammu, July 4: Terming the inauguration of Katra -Udhampur rail link by Prime Minister Narendra Modi a long cherished dream come true for the people of Jammu and Kashmir and a way forward to take the State towards the path of development and prosperity, former Union Minister and MLA, Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta said, what Congress Party could not do for decades, NDA Government Led by Narendra Modi, who is known for his vision and prompt decision taking ability has done it within a month after forming Government at the Centre.
He pointed out that it was during the tenure of Atal Bihari Vajpayee that the work on the project was speeded up to complete it in a time bound manner, But after 2004 during the Congress led UPA regime the work was carried out at snails pace and inauguration of Katra rail link was delayed at one or other pretext.
The initiative taken by Mr Modi Government is clear indication that issues pertaining to State are on its top agenda and there are good days ahead for the people of State. Prof. Gupta appreciated the resolve of Narendra Modi to complete the remaining stretch of rail link to Banihal at earliest possible time to connect fully the valley of Kashmir with rest of country.
