RAJOURI, July 4: A youth hailing from district Shopian of Kashmir died in a head-on collision between a motorcycle and a Bolero car near DC Office complex on Gujjar Mandi-Kheora road, falling under the jurisdiction of police station Rajouri.
As per police sources, a Bolero car bearing registration number JK11A-4359 collided head-on with a motorcycle bearing registration number JK02AH- 6436 in which biker received critical injuries.
The motorcyclist was rushed to District Hospital, where he failed to respond to the treatment and succumbed to his injuries.
The deceased has been identified as Mohammad Reyaz, son of Abdul Ghani, a resident of district Shopian, Kashmir and presently residing in Kheora area of district Rajouri.
The body will be handed over to family members for last rites after conducting autopsy tomorrow.
A case under relevant sections has been registered at Rajouri police station and manhunt launched to nab the driver, who managed to escape from the spot leaving behind the vehicle.
