UDHAMPUR, May 29: Police arrested an inter- district drug peddler in Chenani and recovered heroin like substance from his possession.
A police team of Police Station Chenani led by SHO Jaswainder Singh intercepted a Taxi (JK01AV-4235) coming from Jammu towards Srinagar. Upon frisking, one of the passengers was found carrying 13.54 grams of heroin-like banned contraband.
Identified as Mudasir Ahmed Bhat, son of Mohd Yousaf Bhat of Khonmoh, Lasjan, Srinagar, the accused was immediately taken into custody. In this regard, a case FIR number 58/2025, under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at the PS Chenani and further investigation is underway.
