SAMBA, May 29: Police in Vijaypur area of Samba district today claimed they have arrested a drug peddler and recovered 15 grams of heroin-like-substance from his possession.
During naka checking near AIIMS Vijaypur, a party of police station Vijaypur intercepted a pedestrian who was moving under suspicious circumstances, a police official said.
On frisking of the suspected individual, 15 grams of heroin-like-substance was recovered, he said.
Accordingly, the accused identified as Ranjeet Choudhary of Sector 1, Model Town Gangyal, was arrested and booked in case FIR number 58/2025 under sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Vijaypur and further investigation started, he added.
