*Calls for protest leave on June 12

JAMMU, May 27: The Guidance Council of Jammu and Kashmir Electrical Engineering Graduates Association (JKEEGA) has decided to go on protest leave on June 12 in view of the indifferent attitude of the JKUT authorities towards their issues.
A meeting of the Council was held here at PDD Complex Bemina & Gladni Jammu to discuss & deliberate upon agenda viz-a-viz non serious approach of Government towards regularization of PDD Engineers and arbitrary transfer of 25 AEs & 25 AEEs posts to JKSPDC thus diluting SO- 927 of 2019 & SO-134 of 2020.
The meeting was attended by members of guidance council from Junior Engineers to Chief Engineers. Pirzada Hidayatulla, president JKEEGA at Srinagar and Sachin Tickoo, general secretary JKEEGA at Jammu headed the meetings. After the briefing the council members were informed that post holding a protest by power engineers under the banner of JKEEGA during the month of Jan-2025 regarding non regularization of PDD Engineers, The Establishment Committee on Jan 30 held a meeting of regularization of Engineers and cleared the proposal, bringing the much needed respite but power Engineers across the UT know that this is short lived.
Despite lapse of more than four months, the MoM of said meeting has not been issued and circulated thus raising doubts on the intentions of Government. It was briefed that all democratic means viz-a-viz Calling upon Chief Minister, Chief Secretary and other officers were exercised, but all in vain .
JKEEGA lamented the arbitrary diversion of 25 AE & 25 AEE posts from JKPDD to JKSPDC in a hastily manner to benefit JKSPDC engineers at the cost of JKPDD engineers was briefed and it was given to understand that post unbundling of PDD into various Corporations, SO 927 of 2019 & SO-134 of 2020 incorporating the overall cadre strength of PDD including leave reserve and deputation reserve posts were issued by Government of J&K.
The Guidance Council resolved that a 17-days’ notice to Government for issuance of orders for regularization of retired and in-service engineers of JKPDD as per SAC decision 258/22/2019, dated 22-10- 2019 including issuance of MoM of ECS Committee meeting held on 20-01-2025 before 12-06-2025, failing which one day protest on June 12 shall be held by power engineers across J&K.
