JAMMU, July 1: ‘Discover the Actor in You’ a unique acting training programme was inaugurated here today at Natrang Studio Theatre with the lighting of traditional lamp by Natrang Director, Padamshree Balwant Thakur.
This unique programme is being conducted by Neelu Dogra who has come all way from Singapore to conduct this most developed new methodology based programme of actors training. Describing details about this new initiative, Neelu Dogra informed that this training is for all those who have desired to be an actor, the workshop on ‘Discover the Actor in You’ will enable the participants to hone their skills in acting, imagination, body rhythm language, emoting, and role playing etc.
The workshop will take the participants to a journey to their inner self will mirror their immense inner talent wealth and also make the participants acquainted with theatre techniques apart from preparing them for voice and speech intonation.
Through a series of warm-up exercises, exciting games, improvisation activities, and work on short scenes, the participants will build awareness and confidence for their performance, find ease and focus in their creativity as well as explore dramatic characters and situations.
In his address Natrang Director Balwant Thakur said that in last 30 years, Natrang has been endeavouring to expose Jammu talent to best of the latest developed techeneques of actors preparedness. He expressed his gratitude to Neelu Dogra who is currently working internationally having come exclusively to Jammu to training the young aspirants in the art of acting.
Neelu Dogra started her career in acting from Natrang with the play ‘Aaj Ki Aurat’ written and directed by Balwant Thakur and later participated in most of the major productions of Natrang including ‘Bawa Jitto’ and ‘Kanjoos’ directed by Adil Hussain.
