The matter came to light with the discovery of a bag, lying under stones and emitting a foul smell in Laddha village, under the jurisdiction of Police Station Chenani, on Thursday.
On being informed, a police party, led by SHO Chenani, Inspector Jaswinder Singh reached the spot and when the bag was checked, police found a decomposed male body in it.
The deceased was later identified as Ravi Kumar, son of Parkash Chand, resident of Chulna-Panchari.
Investigation led police to suspect wife of the deceased, Nisha Devi, her mother Kanta Devi and brother Joginder, resident of Nargela village, to be the key figures behind the murder.
The three were taken into custody where they confessed to their being involved in the killing due to a “personal domestic dispute,” police said, adding that weapon of offence has also been recovered and further investigation into the case is going on.
