Campaign for Drug-Free Jammu launched

JAMMU, May 5: In a united effort to combat the rising issue of drug abuse among school-going adolescents, the “Drug-Free Lifestyle in Jammu” campaign was officially launched at Government High School (GHS) Barjala, Zone Satwari.
The campaign was inaugurated by Dr Harbaksh Singh, CMO Jammu. Several medical professionals and school faculty participated in the launch, marking a significant step toward a drug-free Jammu.
Spearheaded by Dr Navneet Kaur, a noted social reformer and founder of NGO SUPPORT, the initiative is a collaborative effort involving Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) CHC Sohanjana, Rotary Club Jammu Baahu and SUPPORT NGO.
Key components of the initiative include educational workshops for students, teachers, and parents, community outreach programs, and partnerships with Government bodies and civil society.
Dr Sandhya Sharma of RBSK emphasized the psychological and social toll of addiction, calling for a united front to tackle the crisis.
