CB’s SCW files chargesheet against Jammu man for embezzling Rs 19.77 lakh

JAMMU, Mar 20: The Special Crime Wing (SCW) of the Crime Branch Jammu has filed a chargesheet against one person for his alleged involvement in embezzlement of Rs 19.77 lakh.
A chargesheet against one Vinod Kumar of Thather, Bantalab, Jammu, was filed in the Passenger Tax Court Jammu for his involvement in embezzling Rs 19, 77, 200 intended for ATM cash deposits, a Crime Branch official said.
According to him, a case against Kumar was originally registered as FIR number 08/2016 at Police Station Akhnoor under sections 409/201 RPC and later transferred to the Crime Branch for a thorough investigation, with investigation entrusted to Inspector Ashok Bazaz under the supervision of SSP Sanjay Parihar.
After detailed investigation, he said, the Crime Branch today presented the chargesheet in the concerned court for further judicial proceedings.
In addition to this case, he said, three more FIRs involving similar offences were registered at Police Stations Janipur, Bakshi Nagar and Domana.
“These cases were also transferred to the Crime Branch for investigation, with two chargesheets already submitted, while the investigation into the Bakshi Nagar case is currently underway,” said the CB official.
“The total amount involved in these cases is around Rs 70 lakh,” he added.
