JAMMU, Mar 9: To highlight the problems faced by the general public, former Deputy Mayor and BJP senior leader Baldev Singh Billawaria today met Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Devansh Yadav.
During the meeting, various issues, demands and problems being faced by the residents of Jammu were discussed in detail, highlighting the ongoing development work, cleaning of lanes and drains, proper functioning of street lights and other related work of Jammu.
Billawaria demanded immediate action to redress these grievances so as to ensure effective delivery of basic amenities to the people.
He said, “The EESL Company has failed to provide smooth functioning of street lights to the people of Jammu city. Several delegations of market associations have lodged complaints with him regarding the non-functioning of street lights and the ongoing project of beautification of Jammu Bazar under Smart City.”
Billawaria urged the Commissioner to repair the street lights installed in all the markets and mohallas on priority on Holi festival.
He said that the work being done by the sanitation corporation commissioner Devansh Yadav and his team for cleanliness in Jammu city is commendable and praiseworthy.
The BJP leader also appealed to the citizens to bring Jammu city ranking up from the bottom in Swachh Survekshan” and requested them not to throw garbage in the deep drains of their area and cooperate with the Municipal Corporation.
Commissioner Devansh Yadav listened the various demands raised by Billawaria and assured that the Municipal Corporation will give priority to these issues and work towards finding solutions.
