NEW DELHI, Jan 31: Youth Congress led by IYC National president Uday Bhanu Chib today held a protest against Arvind Kejriwal outside his residence in New Delhi, over the issue of the polluted Yamuna and his government’s failed promises on it.
J&K Youth Congress general secretary Anirudh Sawhney and various youth leaders participated in the protest. The Youth Congress leaders strongly condemned the AAP party for its failure in implementing their promises about cleaning the Yamuna river, calling them hollow and false.
During the protest, the protesters raised slogans against the party and Arvind Kejriwal, questioning when he will take a dip in the Yamuna river which he had promised to get cleaned. They raised questions on the increasing pollution levels in the river and stated that no concrete action was taken by the AAP party towards fixing the issue.
The agitators further criticized the party and highlighted that the promises made by them were false and empty, and the real picture of the Yamuna river is worse than before. The deplorable condition of the Yamuna is proof of the incompetence of the AAP party in fulfilling any of their promises. There has been no development in the cleaning of the Yamuna river under their governance, the Youth Congress said.
They stressed that the party does not remember it’s five year old promise and has taken zero steps in this regard. The protesters added that AAP has been talking about dangerously increasing ammonia levels in the water and ironically have taken no action to combat the challenge. The people of Delhi, they said, are waiting for Kejriwal to take a dip in the Yamuna river as per his statement.
The increasing pollution is only one of the challenges Delhi is facing and evidently, there has been no serious response by the AAP Government and they have failed to tackle the issue, the agitators stated. Like the clean Yamuna claim, all of their claims and promises are completely empty since they are not backed by any action during their governance.
