SRINAGAR, Jan 27: Real Kashmir FC continued their unbeaten home run in the I-League 2024-25 with a 2-0 victory over Dempo SC Goa at the TRC Ground in Srinagar. The match, attended by over 6,000 spectators including District Development Commissioner Srinagar Dr. Bilal Mohiuddin as the chief guest, saw RKFC extend their dominance at home.
Dempo SC had an early chance when Seigoumang Doungle’s powerful shot hit the crossbar in the 30th minute. Despite this, RKFC struggled to break through Dempo’s defense in the first half. However, the second half saw a change in momentum. In the 52nd minute, a mistake by Dempo’s defence allowed Lalramsanga to score with a stunning 25-yard shot that left goalkeeper Ashish Sibi helpless.
Dempo almost equalized when Knerkitalang Buam’s long-range effort struck the crossbar. However, RKFC doubled their lead in the 58th minute with a well-timed header from Senegalese striker Karim Samb off a cross by Paulo Cezar.
Despite missing a golden opportunity later, RKFC held on for the 2-0 win, moving up to fifth place in the league standings with 16 points from 10 matches. Real Kashmir remains the only club from Jammu & Kashmir in the I-League.
