JAMMU, Jan 12: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA from Jasrota, Rajiv Jasrotia, today paid floral tribute to Martyr Rifleman Mangal Singh of 15 JAK RIF, who sacrificed his life on January 12, 2002, in the Poonch sector while fighting enemies.
The tribute event at Ladoli saw the presence of prominent figures, including Capt Gian Singh Pathania, Capt Madan Lal, Mandal Pradhan Deepak Sharma, and several Sarpanchs.
Speaking on the occasion, Jasrotia praised the sacrifices of Dogras, who have a proud tradition of serving in the armed forces and preserving the nation’s unity and integrity.
He acknowledged the contributions of the Kandi border belt residents, known for their courage and nationalism.
He also assured support to the family of the martyr, emphasizing the importance of remembering the sacrifices of heroes like Mangal Singh, who serve as inspirations for future generations.
Jasrotia highlighted the need to honour war veterans and martyrs who fought in wars of 1947, 1965, 1971, Kargil, and ongoing proxy wars in Jammu and Kashmir.
He called for collective efforts to rebuild India and make it a global leader, aligning with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Later, Jasrotia participated in a Shobha Yatra at Barwal, organized to celebrate the first anniversary of the Ram Lalla idol consecration ceremony in Ayodhya.
The event witnessed a large gathering of devotees and the presence of Sarpanchs Shiv Dev, Sukhdev, Capt Sandeep Singh and others.
Jasrotia noted that cultural and religious programs have commenced in the Ram Temple complex, providing devotees an opportunity to participate in the celebrations.
He expressed pride in the growing devotion and faith surrounding the Ram Janmabhoomi, highlighting the significance of such events in strengthening cultural unity.
