JAMMU, Dec 12: To highlight critical issues pertaining to judicial reforms and the lack of adequate infrastructure in High Courts and subordinate courts, a delegation of Legal Cell of National Conference (NC) held a significant meeting with CM Omar Abdullah, here today.
A delegation led by D.S. Chuhan, president of the Legal Cell, along with Mehrukh Sydan, Vice President, and Nisar Gattoo, Additional Secretary, presented a detailed memorandum to the Chief Minister.
During the meeting, the delegation emphasized, chronic lack of proper courtrooms, staff and technological support in both High Courts and lower courts. Necessity for modernizing the judicial system to ensure expeditious case resolution and facilities to aid the legal fraternity in effectively serving justice.
CM Abdullah expressed his gratitude to the JKNC Legal Cell for raising these pertinent issues and assured the delegation of his commitment to addressing the concerns and acknowledged the need for judicial reforms and infrastructure enhancement as a priority for ensuring timely justice for the people of Jammu & Kashmir.
