UDHAMPUR, Dec 6: In a significant move to curb criminal activities in Udhampur, the district police have detained a notorious bovine smuggler under the Jammu and Kashmir Public Safety Act (PSA).
The accused, identified as Neef alias Billu, son of Isrial and a resident of Pakhlai, Udhampur, has been implicated in multiple cases of bovine smuggling registered in the district. Authorities have described Neef as a persistent offender whose activities pose a serious threat to the district’s peace and order.
Acting on detention orders issued by the District Magistrate Udhampur, the Police took swift action to place him under preventive detention.
