JAMMU, Nov 26: Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Swami Kailashanand Giri of Niranjan Peeth will be honoured with the Kailakh Sanskrit Ratna Award 2024 for his significant contributions to the promotion of Sanskrit.
An announcement in this regard was made by Mahant Rohit Shastri, President of Kailakh Jyotish Avim Vedic Sansthan Trust, during a press conference in Jammu.
The award ceremony is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, November 27, at 3 PM at the Grand Resort, Mishriwala, Jammu.
According to Mahant Rohit Shastri, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha will be the Chief Guest, while Sham Lal Sharma, MLA Jammu North, and Prof BN Tripathi, Vice-Chancellor of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology-Jammu, will be the special guests.
The Kailakh Sanskrit Ratna Award, initiated in 2017, honours individuals who have excelled in the promotion of Sanskrit. This year, the award will be presented to Swami Kailashanand Giri in recognition of his tireless efforts in preserving and spreading the Sanskrit language and Indian culture.
Swami Kailashanand Giri is a renowned scholar of Sanskrit, Hindi, and English, as well as a spiritual leader and yoga teacher.
As the Acharya Mahamandaleshwar of Niranjani Akhara, he guides millions of Naga Sadhus and thousands of Mahamandaleshwars.
His contributions to Indian culture, traditions, and Vedic knowledge are widely recognized, and many of his disciples hold important positions in both state and Central Governments.
Born on January 1, 1976, in a small village in Bihar, Swami Kailashanand Giri embraced spirituality at an early age.
He has authored several books on Indian culture and Vedic Sanatan Dharma. His role as Mahamandaleshwar of Agni Akhara at the age of 38 during the 2013 Prayagraj Mahakumbh was a remarkable achievement.
Known for his daily 14-hour-long Rudrabhishek of Lord Shiva, he is highly respected by devotees.
Mahant Rohit Shastri urged the youth to follow Swami Kailashanand Giri’s example and contribute to the preservation of Indian culture.
The press conference was attended by prominent trustees of the Trust, including RK Chhibber, Ajay Sharma, Deepak Gupta, Jagdev Singh Chib,Naresh Raina and other dignitaries.
