RAMBAN, Nov 23: Jammu and Kashmir Police in Ramban district have booked a notorious drug smuggler under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (PIT NDPS) Act.
A police official said that Ghulam Nabi, son of Khuda Baksh of Amkoot Chamalwas, Tehsil Banihal, District Ramban, was involved in multiple criminal activities related to drug trafficking.
Despite being booked several times for his involvement in different crimes, he said, the accused continued his illicit trade, supplying drugs to the local youth in Chamalwas and surrounding areas.
His actions had a detrimental impact on the community, particularly among the youth, he said.
Following the detention order issued by the competent authority, the police official said that Ghulam Nabi was taken into custody and lodged in the District Jail Poonch.
