Sir,
As far as the earth is concerned it is showing some changes which we can easily judge due to prevailing weather conditions in month of April 2014. It is fact that air pollution in our state is increasing day by day with increase in the number of vehicles, which has become a matter of deep concern for one and all. We all know that the State has already been declared as Air Pollution Control zone under the Air (Prevention and Control) Act 1981.
The transport sector is largely responsible for increasing pollution because large no. of vehicles plying on the road now a days are emitting large volumes of emission that pose a threat to the environment.
As per latest information, from past one year Transport department has started around 79 centers for checking the exhaust emissions but, it has not purchased the Gas analyzers for petrol driven vehicles besides smoke meters till date to carry out work efficiently.
Old vehicles and adulteration in fuel and use Kerosene oil in vehicles is a major reason for pollution .
So events like Earth day or Environment day on 05 june every year must be celebrated in schools and colleges to make youth aware of the importance of hazards of pollution.
Yours etc…
