JAMMU, Apr 14: Senior Congress leader and Minister for Housing, Horticulture and Culture, Raman Bhalla today said that former Chief Minister and party’s candidate from Udhamur-Doda Parliamentary constituency ensured development par excellence in J&K State during his tenure.
He said that this is high time people support Congress for carrying that development.
Addressing well attended public meetings at Saila Talab and other adjoining areas of Udhampur, Raman Bhalla said that people should realize that no one other than Congress can ensure perennial development in J&K State, adding that communal parties like BJP can only create wedge between people and divide them on communal and regional lines.
Raman Bhalla said that BJP by raising communal and regional issues was trying to disturb peace in the state and polarize society. This is dangerous trend which Congress will not let happen. Reminding people of massive development which the state witnessed during Ghulam Nabi Azads tenure, Raman Bhalla said that Azad as Chief Minister ensured equitable development of all three region of the state without any prejudice.
He added that tourism places like Bala Khelani, Bhaderwah, Doda and Kishtwar besides RamNagar and Pancheri were brough on the tourism map by Ghulam Nabi Azad and added that empowering Panchayats, creating new administrative units, setting up polytechnic colleges, developing mega infrastructure, connecting rural roads, developing cities at par with other cities of the nation because of projects like JNNURM, MNREGA, SSA and NRHM were all because Congress visionary policies.
He urged people to vote for coalition candidate Ghulam Nabi Azad and send a credible representative into the highest decision making institution of the country.
He said that Jammu and Kashmir State witnessed maximum development during the time when Azad was Chief Minister. The kind of infrastructure that was developed here benefitted people in a big way.
The areas that had tourism potential but were neglected in years were given face lift and brought on the tourism map of the country. He said all three regions of the state witnessed equitable development during Azads tenure which people still long for and hope to see that era returned.
