JAMMU, Apr 14: To commemorate Jamshedji Tata, a pioneer industrialist and founder of Tata Group, India’s biggest conglomerate company, Westside, Indira Theatre in collaboration with Smile Foundation India organised a Career Counselling Workshop for the students of Ankur Vidyalaya.
Westside is the retail arm of the Tata Group. Started in 1998, Trent operated Westside, one of the many growing retail chains in India.
Smile Foundation the recipient of Global CSR Excellence and Leadership Award 2014 is a national level development organisation directly benefiting over 30,00,00 children and their families every year, through 158 welfare projects on education, healthcare, livelihood and women empowerment, in more than 700 remote villages and slums across 25 States of India. It has partnered with Ankur Vidyalaya to provide quality education to the underprivileged children of Jammu.
The Career Counseling programme started with a motivational talk by Kulvir, Manager of Smile Foundation. It was followed by an interactive session by Rohit Sharma, Assistant Manager Operations of Westside Jammu.
Through a plethora of activities, inspirational stories and games built on the concept of team building, time management and good listening skills, he motivated the students to follow the guide lines of discipline.
He apprised the students about career option in retail. Concluding the session with a motivational speech, he told them that a dream does not become reality through magic. It requires planning, determination, and dedication, belief in one self and tremendous amount of hard work.
