UDHAMPUR, Apr 14: A BSF Jawan on election duty in Udhampur, was found dead under mysterious circumstances in his barrack, late last night.
The deceased, identified as Puttu Singh (52), son of Hardyal Singh of Bhind, Madhya Pradesh, was posted in Pantha Chowk Srinagar and had been deputed in Udhampur for election duty.
He was found unconscious in his barrack and shifted to hospital where doctors declared him as brought dead. The body was handed over to the BSF authorities after conducting post mortem.
Meanwhile, a local youth was also found dead under mysterious circumstances. Identified as Bhupinder Singh (25) son of Inder Singh of Adarsh Colony, Udhampur, the deceased was found dead on the National Highway near Maud, about 10 kms from Udhampur Town towards Srinagar. The body was spotted by some CRPF men who shifted it to District Hospital Udhampur.
A case in this regard was registered in Police Station Udhampur. Dead body of the deceased was kept in mortuary for postmortem which is likely to be conducted tomorrow.
