JAMMU, Apr 13: The newly constructed ‘Sarovar’ at Gurdwara Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, at Chand Nagar ( Below Gumat) is being made functional for the devotees in a grand function being held on the occasion of ‘Khalsa Divas’ celebrations tomorrow.
Disclosing this to the media-persons here today, Baba Nirmal Singh, Baba Gurcharan Singh and Baba Jabir Singh, ‘Sevadars’ and members Gurdwara Pehli Patshahi, Guru Nanak Dev Ji (Chand Nagar), said that holy water from the seven top holy (Sarovars) of Sikhs like Golden Temple Amritsar, Bangla Sahib Delhi and Patna Sahib has been brought in pots and it will be added to this newly constructed Sarovar tomorrow amidst a grand function.
Amidst special prayers and in presence of several top high priests and noted religious personalities from the community, the Sarovar will be made functional.
They also disclosed that a large number of devotees would participate in the grand function being held at Chand Nagar Gurdwara at 10 am onward tomorrow. The function is being organised by District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee Jammu. Deviating from the past practice of celebrating this ‘Purab’ at Gurdwara Chatti Patshahi, Talab Tilloo Jammu, it is being made as one time exception to inaugurate the ‘Sarovar’ at Chand Nagar Gurdwara.
Renowned Hazoori ‘Ragi Jathas’, preachers and ‘Taddi Jathas’ have been specially invited for the purpose. ‘Amrit Sanchar’ has already been done on April 12. A large number of devotees are expected to participate in this grand function on the birth of Khalsa which falls on Baisakhi, they added.
