JAMMU, Mar 26: The arrangements being made for Shri Amarnathji Yatra, which is scheduled to begin on June 28, 2014 and conclude on August 10, 2014 were reviewed here today by N.N. Vohra, Governor, who is also the Chairman of Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board.
Navin K. Choudhary, Chief Executive Officer, SASB; Preet Pal Singh, Additional CEO; R.K. Pandita, General Manager (Works) and other senior officers attended the meeting at Raj Bhavan.
The Governor was briefed about the status of advance registration which is being done by the designated branches of J&K Bank, Punjab National Bank and YES Bank all over the country. The CEO informed that, for the convenience of the Yatris, the list of doctors/hospitals authorized to issue Compulsory Health Certificates have been uploaded in respect of all the States/UTs except Lakshadweep, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Jharkhand, Meghalaya and Sikkim.
In this context, Governor asked CEO to issue immediate reminders to the Health Secretaries of these States/UTs, and once again requested them to publicize lists of the authorized doctors / medical institutes.
Governor was also briefed about to-date position with regard to heli- services for the Yatris, issuance of permissions for the setting up of tents and shops, and about the finalization of various contracts relating to the maintenance of sanitation in the Yatra area, provision of insurance covers to registered Yatris, service providers, ponies, issuance of permission letters to Langar organization to set up free Langars in the Yatra area, provision of telecom facility in the Yatra area and dissemination of Yatra related information etc.
The review meeting also discussed the todate status of all Yatra related arrangements which are to be made by the Divisional Administration (Kashmir); District Administrations of Ganderbal and Anantnag districts; CEO, Pahalgam Development Authority; CEO, Sonamarg Development Authority; and the various other concerned departments including Tourism, PHE, PDD, CAPD, Health, Labour and Animal Husbandry.
Mr Choudhary briefed the Chairman about the to-date position of the action taken to implement the directions passed by Supreme Court regarding various arrangements to be made for the ensuing Shri Amarnathji Yatra. The Governor asked the CEO to immediately take up all important pending matters with Chief Secretary and Home Secretary, for ensuring timely implementation of the directions issued by the Apex Court.
The Governor also directed CEO to ensure timely advance action for the identification of the required number of suitably experienced Civil and Police officers who are to be deployed as Camp Directors and Additional Camp Directors in the entire Yatra area.
