JAMMU, June 20: Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Jammu Zone, Anand Jain, convened a comprehensive briefing session at the Conference Hall of ZPHQ Jammu this evening.
The session was dedicated to police officers designated by Police Headquarters (PHQ) for the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2024.
The briefing focused on ensuring a secure, smooth, and successful pilgrimage experience for devotees of Shri Amarnath Ji.
ADGP Anand Jain emphasized key strategies to fortify security along the Yatra route, particularly at vulnerable points.
Vigilance and coordinated efforts among security forces were highlighted as essential to pre-empt and counter potential threats effectively.
Strategic plans for traffic regulation were outlined to manage pilgrim and vehicle flow efficiently, aiming to minimize disruptions and enhance safety.
Close coordination between police officers and the Traffic Department was stressed to maintain seamless transit routes.
The briefing also addressed crowd management techniques at base camps and along the Yatra route.
The ADGP Jammu stressed the importance of maintaining discipline to prevent overcrowding and ensure the comfort and safety of pilgrims throughout their journey.
Contingency plans for natural disasters and emergencies were discussed, emphasizing rapid response protocols and seamless coordination with disaster management teams.
Provision of medical aid and other essential facilities received significant attention, with plans in place to collaborate closely with Health Departments to set up medical camps and ensure emergency medical services availability.
ADGP Anand Jain assured all designated officers of adequate resources and support to facilitate a successful Yatra.
The meeting was attended by senior officials including DIG Jammu, SSP PCR Jammu, and SSP Jammu, alongside all police officers earmarked by PHQ for Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2024.
