JAMMU, June 16: Jammu Kashmir Teachers Masters Association (JKTMA) held monthly meeting under the chairmanship of UT President Rakesh Singh, here today to project genuine burning issues of teacher community.
While addressing the meeting, Rakesh Singh expressed resentment against the delaying tactics over the issue of adjustment list of Master grade and said that it reflects the casual approach of Education Department authorities. He urged the Principal Secretary SED to issue the adjustment list at the earliest.
Association also urged Commissioner Secretary SED to continue the DPC of Teachers/Masters to Lecturers in all disciplines within short span of time.
Speaking on the issue of vacant positions of Lecturers/Masters in Senior Secondary Schools, General Secretary Vivek Gupta said that due to such vacancies, students face difficulties in academic studies which ultimately reflected in low pass percentage of Govt schools & also defeated the very purpose of RTE 2009 including NEP 2020 as it envisages that all the vacancies of Lecturers/Masters would be filled in all the Senior Secondary Schools/ High schools & engagement of CRC is not permanent solution which should be discouraged as far as possible.
Association also demanded to rescind the condition of “one-time exemption ” as it is only unnecessary harassment of teachers and urged to make process of in-service study for teachers simple rather than cumbersome procedure.
While inviting attention towards the order issued regarding secondary classes to be taken by Lecturers in addition to their own classes, Singh welcomed the decision and urged to higher authorities to implement it in letter and spirit for the welfare of the students.
Others demands raised by the association, included Rural allowance to teachers posted in Zone IV , creation of welfare fund for teachers, Education allowance for Teachers having M Ed, M Phil, Ph D, enhancing grade of Teachers, Mobile allowance, etc.
