SAMBA, June 16: Police in Vijaypur area here claimed they have recovered a kidnapped minor girl and arrested the accused.
A police official said a written complaint was lodged at Police Station Vijaypur by the father of the minor girl stating therein that his son dropped his 17-year-old daughter at Rahya for school but she didn’t return home.
Acting on the complaint, he said, a case FIR number 84/2024 under Section 363 of the IPC was registered at Police Station Vijaypur and search started.
He said special teams of Police Station Vijaypur led by SHO concerned Inspector Zaheer Mushtaq conducted raids at different places and finally succeeded in tracing the minor girl from Katra, Reasi.
According to police, the accused, Deepak of Mazdoor Basti, Resham Ghar Colony, Jammu, has been arrested and further investigation taken up.
