SC grants bail in NDPSA case

Jammu, May 16: A bench of Supreme Court of India comprising Justice Surya Kant and Justice K. V. Viswanathan has granted bail in NDPS matter titled as, “Md. Kolimuddin SK alias Rinku Vs. the State of West Bengal”.
Advocate Keshav Thakur, appearing on behalf of the petitioner, argued that the petitioner must be granted bail as he has spent more than two years in custody and there are no other criminal antecedents, coupled with the fact that the conclusion of trial will take some reasonable time.
Thereafter hearing the counsels for the parties and after perusing the material on record, the Supreme Court released the petitioner on bail in FIR No. 87/2022, registered at Police Station Lalogola, District Murshidabad, under Section 21(c)/29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.
