Cultural prog organised for inmates of District Jail

JAMMU, Mar 11: With an aim to provide healthy environment and entertainment to the jail inmates of District Jail, Ambphalla, the Cultural Wing of State Information Department today organised a composite cultural programme jointly by the prisons Department in the auditorium of District Jail, Ambphalla, here this evening.
Deputy Inspector General of Police Prisons Department Sultan Mohammad Lone was the chief guest on the occasion.
Superintendent Police Kot Bhalwal Jail, Dinesh Sharma, Superintendent Police District Jail Ambphalla, Harish Kotwal, Cultural Officer, Raman Joshi besides other besides other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Lone thanked the Information Department in organising such a wonderful cultural programme in the District Jail which is not only providing entertainment to the inmates of jail but also provided them some moments of enjoyment and to leave a soothing effect on their minds.
He said that jail inmates are part and parcel of civil society and he wished for their early return to their homes so that they can live peaceful life with their families.
The artists of Information Department who presented a scintillating cultural programme which enthralled the inmates included Jeevan Sharma, Vijay Anand, Sunil Sharma, Kamal Kumar, Bodh Raj, Surjit Singh Sumbaria, Bunty Kumar, Archana Sharma and Zulikha Farid.
Harish Kotwal, Superintendent of District Jail has presented vote of thanks and said the two-hour long programme was a welcome diversion for the inmates who could showcase their skills in dance, skit and music jointly by Cultural Wing of State Information Department.
