Robbery case solved in Ganderbal, 2 arrested

Srinagar, Feb 5: Police in Ganderbal today solved a case of robbery within hours by arresting 2 accused persons involved in the crime and recovering the stolen property from their possession.
Authorities said that on Sunday, some unknown thieves had entered the residential house of Gh Mohd Sofi son of Noor-Din Sofi resident of Patipora Saloora and taken away some jewellery and cash.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 18/2024 under relevant sections of law was registered and investigation was initiated, police said.
On the directions of SSP Ganderbal, a special police team was constituted under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Ganderbal Gh Hassan led by SHO PS Ganderbal.
“Acting swiftly, a special police team after strenuous efforts and with the help of technical inputs and CCTV footage, apprehended two accused persons identified as Imran Ismail Bhat & Umar Shafi Gilkar, both residents of Tailbal Hazratbal,” police said.
On their disclosure, police said, stolen jewellery including one Golden Ring, a pair of Golden Ear Rings, a Golden Badge & cash amount of Rs 13,000 have been recovered from their possession. Vehicle (Amaze Car) bearing registration number JK01AT-1953 used in the commission of the crime has also been seized.
