APTU seeks compensation for shopkeepers

JAMMU, Feb 5: Apni Party Trade Union president Ajaz Kazmi today demanded adequate compensation for the shopkeepers who have lost their goods and 75 shops in Banihal area of district Ramban following a fire incident that gutted property worth crores.
In a press statement Kazmi said that the mysterious fire incident should be investigated by an independent agency to unfold the reality that has huge losses to the traders in Banihal.
He also demanded compensation for the business owners and shopkeepers as they have suffered unaccounted losses.
“The authorities should immediately constitute a team to rehabilitate the shopkeepers and help them to overcome the losses,” he said.
He questioned similar fire incidents in Chenab valley and demanded a thorough probe.
