JAMMU, Dec 12: Dr Rajender Gupta, Professor of Economics and Convener BOS in Economics, took over as Director Academic Staff College, University of Jammu.
Prof Gupta had joined the university in 1981 and became a Professor in 2002. He headed the Department of Economics from 2006 to 2009 and oversaw the modernization of the Department as well as the upgradation of syllabi.
The Computer Laboratory in the Department was set up during his tenure. Earlier, Professor Gupta had spent two years in the former USSR as a Post Doctoral Fellow under Indo-Soviet Exchange programme.
