JAMMU, Apr 10: A Railway Police Force officer was injured in an accidental fire here today, police said.
They said Sudhir Kumar Rai (48) son of Surindera Nath Rai of Deoria, Tehsil Jamania, District Gazipur, Uttar Pradesh, who is posted as SI at Varanasi Railway Station, was injured in an accidental fire from the service weapon (AK-47) of SPO Harbajan Singh, while the former was crossing the foot over bridge at Jammu Tawi Railway Station.
“Soon after the incident, the injured police officer was taken to Government Medical College Jammu, where he is undergong treatment,” said police.
Meanwhile, police have registered a case FIR number 11/2023 under relevant sections of the law at Police Station GRP Jammu and taken up further investigation.
